Is It That Easy?

It’s not easy to grow an online business from scratch to a wildly successful and profitable enterprise.

The truth is, there are many moving pieces to an online business, and each is critical to its vitality.

But it's doable and very possible for you if you commit to learn what you don’t know, as well as:

Learn the systems you need to for your business and how to integrate them
Get organized so you can learn to work smart and not overly hard
Have a strategy and a guide to help you build your customized, online business

The problem that many new entrepreneurs face is not having realistic expectations of the level of effort needed to start and run a business. So many coaches and mentors lean heavily on the outcome (which for the most part is very realistic) but do not prepare you for the incline of the journey.

-Make $10K in one month

-Have your clients drooling to get their hands on your courses and programs

-Live the laptop lifestyle

Yes, all of these are possible. You can make $10K in one month. You can make $30K in one month, if you know what you're doing.

So, what does the newbie do? Start out with the beautiful hope of building a business, expecting the thousands to roll in each day with no plan, outline, roadmap, instructions. Then they find themselves scrambling and hustling to get their business off the ground. In actuality, they don’t have a solid foundation to even move off the ground. They focus on working hard to attract clients and generate revenue and they don't get to experience the beauty of freedom that entrepreneurship can afford.

But I get it.

There's a lot of noise out there. There are many coaches and mentors who offer solutions to a variety of problems. And guess, what… They’re not necessarily wrong either. It's easy to get caught up in reaching for the snippets of information that are out there. Only, you don't know what to do with them. AND, many of the resources that you access are not specifically meant for you either.

You have to decide what works for you.

You’ve probably guess that I am telling off on myself when I refer to the trials of being a new entrepreneur in the online space and even as a entrepreneur who is struggling to experience the success in her business that she desires.

I started out knowing my business was going to be highly profitable with clients beating my door down for help. Umm…no. When I finally got clients, I was charging $15/hour (bleeding heart to make my service absolutely affordable for everyone) and making less than $200 a month. While that was a noble gesture, it was a slap in the face to my son, my mortgage, and to how I represented what I offer through my business.

The road for me was not easy by no means. It was the several missteps of trying to go it alone and figure it out. I had a boundless library of resources I acquired from different leaders, and still I had no idea of how to actually make these tools work for me. I was lurking on the sidelines and swamped with information. I hurt myself without having a plan.

Until I hired a mentor.

With my mentor, I learned how to fully manifest my vision through my passion-based business and to attract and nurture the clients that I truly want to serve.

I went from generating about $200 a month (inconsistently) to experiencing my first $4000 month during my first launch. Now, I am more in love with my clients and their potential to be the influential and intuitive thought leaders in our great world.

The reality was I didn’t know what I didn't know, so I was running off pure adrenaline and optimism. I didn't know how to find a tribe, nor did I know how to develop one. I didn't know systems, I didn't have a strategy, and I didn’t have a support system to guide me and hold me accountable to my goals.

My passion for helping women was evident. I knew my purpose (or shall I say, it was unfolding right before me). I knew that I wanted to manage my priorities and my time. I was tired of asking for permission to be present in my family’s life. I was tired of my wants and needs coming last to everyone else’s goal and vision. I wanted to serve in my own unique way, as I was called to do, and I wanted to be the BOSS of my life, on my own terms.

I had to become vulnerable to what I truly desired because I knew that desire was in me for a reason. I realized that the more I tried to ignore it, the more miserable I was still doing things the same old way. It was time for change, and today, I am so enriched and elated through the new me.

Although I was still learning what I wanted to do, I was bold enough to go all in and discover what I didn't know.
